AFTER RUMI

Hand-carved limestone forms engraved with selected quotations from Jalal al-Din Rumi. Through direct carving into stone, the work explores the relationship between language, permanence, and material presence.The engraved phrases shift between readability and abstraction, allowing the Arabic calligraphy to exist both as text and sculptural form. Rather than functioning solely as written language, the carved surfaces become physical traces of contemplation, memory, and spiritual reflection.Presented as a collective arrangement, the limestone elements evoke the feeling of preserved relics or archaeological remains, where meaning is carried not only through words, but through texture, weight, and the quiet endurance of stone.
