Ember Vessel

A hand-formed clay vessel shaped organically by hand and fired through an experimental process using metal, foil, salt, and layered surface treatments. The firing created smoky markings, scorched tonal variation, and richly textured surfaces that reflect heat, transformation, and material interaction.Ember Vessel carries the visual memory of fire, erosion, and earth. Its fractured rim and heavily textured surface evoke the remains of something excavated — an object shaped not only by the artist’s hand, but also through heat, time, and chemical transformation.Dark burned markings move across the surface like smoke stains or mineral traces, contrasting against warm terracotta tones and raw earthy textures. Rather than seeking refinement, the work embraces imperfection, process, and unpredictability as part of its visual language.
