THREE SISTERS

A series of ceramic forms exploring transformation, individuality, and emotional connection through movement, texture, and organic structure. Each piece began on the pottery wheel before being altered and reshaped by hand, allowing the clay to bend, collapse, and move freely beyond its original symmetrical form.Rather than preserving the traditional vessel shape, the work embraces distortion, spontaneity, and physical intervention, resulting in sculptural forms that appear fluid, folded, and continuously evolving. Multiple layered glazes were used across the surfaces — including deep blacks, warm browns, cream tones, and subtle tonal variations — creating unpredictable reactions during firing reminiscent of erosion, earth, stone, and natural landscapes.Surface markings, folds, scratches, and gestural lines remain visible throughout the forms, preserving traces of touch, movement, and the physical process of shaping the clay. These marks become part of the work’s identity, reflecting both fragility and transformation.Although each piece maintains its own individuality, the three forms exist together in quiet dialogue, connected through rhythm, movement, and shared presence. The work reflects the beauty found in imperfection, change, and the enduring connections between separate forms.
